2013 NCCAA Soccer Division II National Championships Finals Set

Kissimmee, F.L.- The 2013 NCCAA Women’s Soccer DII National Championship final day has been set after three days of pool play. The first match of the day Bob Jones reserved their spot in the final on Saturday by defeating Ohio Christian 2-0. In the second match of the day Cairn and Maranatha battled for a spot in the 3rd place match on Saturday. Cairn came out with the 1-0 victory over Maranatha.

 

Ohio Christian and Maranatha will play for the 7th place match at 10:00 AM.

 

Providence will match up against Cairn for the 3rd place match at 12:15 PM.

 

The Bob Jones Bruins will play the Clearwater Cougars for the 2013 NCCAA Women’s Soccer DII National Championship at 2:45 PM on Saturday, November 16.

 

 

The 2013 NCCAA Men’s Soccer DII National Championship final day is also set.

 

Playing for 7th place at 10:00 AM is Ohio Christian and Manhattan Christian.

Playing for 5th place at 10:00 AM is Clearwater and Dallas Christian.

Playing for 3rd place at 12:15 PM is Providence and Lancaster.

 

Playing for the 2013 NCCAA Men’s Soccer DII National Championship at 5:30 PM is Northland International and Moody Bible.

2013 NCCAA Soccer DII National Championship Day 2 Recap

November 14

Kissimmee, F.L.- An exciting second day of NCCAA Soccer DII National Championship action took place in Kissimmee, Florida on Thursday, November 14, 2013! The women’s side continued in pool play as the men’s side matches determined which place the teams will play for on Saturday.

 

In Men’s Soccer DII action Clearwater and Ohio Christian started the day off to an exciting start tying 1-1 in regulation, scoreless in double overtime, and then reaching sudden death penalty kicks. Clearwater out shot Ohio Christian 6-5 after 7 rounds of PK’s. In the other consolation match of the day Dallas Christian defeated Manhattan 1-0 to join Clearwater in the 5th place match on Saturday. Ohio Christian and Manhattan will play for the 7th place match on Saturday, November 16.

 

Following the two men’s consolation matches were the two semi-final matches. Northland earned a spot in the finals with a 6-2 win over Providence at 5:00. The loss sent Providence to the 3rd place match on Saturday. With one spot left in the championship match Moody and Lancaster kicked off and saved the best for last with an over time thriller. The very close match somehow ended up with a 0-0 draw in regulation time after many offensive chances from both teams. In the 91st minute, 28 seconds into the first sudden death over time period, Moody puts the ball in the back of the Lancaster net to reserve their spot in the championship match on Saturday in a dramatic fashion.

 

After day two of the NCCAA Women’s Soccer DII National Championship we have seen all of the 6 participating teams play and match ups for Saturday are closer to being confirmed as pool play will continue on Friday. Bob Jones entered their first year in Division II with a statement shutting out the #1 seed Providence 4-0. This is Bob Jones’, the at-large bid, first appearance at a NCCAA National Championship. In the second women’s match of the day the score was the same, another 4-0 shutout, with the defending champs Clearwater winning over Maranatha.

2013 NCCAA Soccer DII National Championship Day 1 Recap

November 14

Kissimmee, F.L.- Austin-TIndall Regional Park is the location of the 2013 NCCAA Soccer DII National Championships. Teams arrived for the first day of championship action greeted by strong winds at the fields, but were ready to play. Day one was a great start to another NCCAA National Championship.

 

The four NCCAA Men’s Soccer DII teams winning today and advancing to the semifinals Thursday were Providence, Northland, Moody, and Lancaster. These four teams are all still in the running for the 2013 NCCAA Men’s Soccer Division II National Championship Title.

 

The #2 seed Providence University College defeated #7 Clearwater Christian College 3-0 in the opening match of the 2013 Championship. In the match following the #3 seed Northland International University defeated the #6 Ohio Christian University by one goal with a final score of 2-1. The third match of the evening featured the two time defending national champions and #1 seed Moody Bible Institute verses the #8 seed Dallas Christian College and ended with a 3-0 victory for Moody. The fourth and final match of the night resulted in the #5 seed Lancaster Bible College defeating the #4 seed Manhattan Christian College 2-1.

Four out of the six women’s teams participating in the NCCAA Women’s Soccer DII National Championship played on the first day of pool play. Clearwater Christian College, last year’s national champions, entering as the #2 seed matched up with the #5 seed Cairn University and earned a 3-0 shutout victory. The second women’s match of the evening featured the #1 seed Providence University College playing the # 5 seed Ohio Christian University resulting in Providence winning the closely contested game 2-1.

 

The two remaining teams yet to play, Bob Jones University and Maranatha Baptist Bible College, will lace up Thursday against Providence and Clearwater.
