Kissimmee, F.L. - After day two of pool play at the 2013 NCCAA Soccer DI National Championships all teams have played at least one game and most have played two. There are still several scenarios that will be played out tomorrow to determine whose season is over and who moves on to the Final Four on Friday, December 6.
On the women’s side the Pool A Final Four spot is up for grabs with #6 Dallas Baptist University leading with 3 points yet to play #1 Lee University with 1 point. Lee and #9 Palm Beach Atlantic University tied at 1-1 in the first day of pool play. Dallas Baptist’s goal with 39 seconds left in the match eliminated #9 Palm Beach Atlantic University from the championship.
In Pool B there is a tie between #2 Trinity Christian College and #5 Azusa Pacific University both with 3 total points. #8 Houghton College is eliminated after a 3-1 loss to Trinity Christian and a 2-1 loss to Azusa Pacific. Trinity Christian and Azusa Pacific will play Wednesday, December 4th to determine who advances in the championship.
Pool C is led by #7 Point Loma Nazarene University with 4 points after tying #3 Grace College 0-0, and defeating #4 Judson University 3-1. Grace and Judson will play Wednesday, December 4th giving Grace a chance to tie the leader Point Loma.
After Pool winners are decided, a final berth in the semifinals will be awarded to the runner-up team with the most points earned during pool play. A tiebreaker system is in place as well.
