ChampionshipCRUSADERS WIN SIXTH CONSECUTIVE CHAMPIONSHIP
GREER, SC—Juan
Carlos Aguilera defeated James Buerkle in two sets to give North
Greenville University its sixth consecutive NCCAA Men’s Tennis
National Championship. The Crusaders defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 5-3
in a rematch of last year’s championship match.
NGU took two of
three doubles matches as Gabriel Altmayer and William Ho won 8-5 over
Brock Newton and James Buerkle in #1 doubles and Aguilera and Andy
Hack won 8-4 over Lukas Colombo and Tyler Dealy in #2 doubles. Paul
Segodo and Frankie Moulton defeated Tomas Kurhajec and Rob Young in #2
doubles.
PBA took the top
two singles matches. Newton defeated Kurhajec 6-1, 6-3. Segodo
defeated Young 6-1, 6-1.
NGU won the #3, 4,
and 5 matches. Altmayer defeated Moulton 6-2, 6-0, while Ho won 6-0,
6-1 over Colombo. Aguilera’s 7-5, 6-3 win over Buerkle sealed the
championship for the Crusaders.
Indiana
Wesleyan and Spring Arbor tied for third place.

NCCAA MEN’S NATIONAL TOURNAMENT DAY TWO RESULTS--NGU
AND PBA ADVANCE TO FINALS
GREER, SC—North
Greenville University will try to win its sixth consecutive NCCAA
National Championship Thursday. The Crusaders defeated Spring Arbor
University to advance to the finals. North Greenville will play Palm
Beach Atlantic in a rematch of last year's finals. The Sailfish downed
Indiana Wesleyan in the semi-finals to earn a trip to the finals.
In afternoon Pool A
play, North Greenville defeated Indiana Wesleyan, while Oakland City
downed Bethel.
In Pool B, Spring
Arbor defaulted to Palm Beach Atlantic, while Oklahoma Wesleyan
defeated Cedarville.
The championship
match will be played Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at The Greer Tennis
Center.
