General Guidelines

Rooms are available under NCCAA Block beginning on Tuesday, November 10 for Division II teams and Monday, November 30 for Division I teams.

We have held 8 Doubles & 2 Kings per Region or At-Large representative.  Teams/Coaches should tell Kathy Frazier-Kenny what Region you are from and they will simply change the name on the reservation from Region Name to your school’s name.  The at-large selection would simply alert them that they were the at-large selection and they will follow the same name change protocol.

Parents and other fans can secure the NCCAA rate ($61 Double or $61 King suite) by mentioning that they are traveling into town for the NCCAA Soccer Championships.

Christian Service Projects

Wednesday, November 11

2:30-5:00 PM

Campus Crusade for Christ

CSP Schedule

The event Christian Service Project (CSP) is a hands on opportunity for NCCAA Division II Volleyball to assist Campus Crusade for Christ in their Thanksgiving Food Distribution.  All teams must be at Campus Crusade for Christ headquarters located at 11205 Lake Hart Drive, Orlando, FL 32832 (407-281-3400).  Someone will meet each team vehicle at guard house or gate and direct you to the proper building.

Once on site, teams will be welcomed by CCC staff and then student-athletes will begin sorting and packaging the meals for needy families.  Players will then pray over the families and be guided through a session in how these families became needy and/or homeless.

In preparation for this effort, all NCCAA Division II Volleyball teams are asked to provide the following food items based upon each player’s birth month.  Coaches are asked to provide 1 3 lb. canned ham for this effort.  There are ample shopping places to pick up these items for teams that fly in or drive a significant distance and prefer not to have to carry food items with them.

Food Assignments for NCCAA Volleyball Participants:

All coaches                                           1 3 lb. canned ham

Players born in January or July                1 (14/15 oz.) can of corn and 1 can of green beans

Players born in February or August          1 (14/15 oz.) can green beans, 2 boxes of muffin mix

Players born in March or September        1 (29 oz.) can yams/sweet potatoes, 1 (30 oz.) can of fruit

Players born in April or October               1 (24 oz.) pre-sweetened drink mix (Kool-aid, lemonade)

Players born in May or November            1 (15 oz.) box of instant potatoes, 1 (14/15 oz.) can of corn

Players born in June or December           1 boxed cake mix, plus I can prepared frosting

The success of this effort truly depends upon each team member bringing their assigned product(s) and then showing up to work on Christ’s behalf.  The folks at CCC are excited about this effort and were truly concerned about how this year’s Thanksgiving Food effort would go due to poor economy and increased need throughout Kissimmee and Orlando.

Coaches Meetings (required)

The Championship Coaches Meeting and Annual Business Meeting will be Wednesday, November 11 at 2:30-4:00 PM at Campus Crusade for Christ headquarters.  Coaches should plan to sit in on initial welcome and prayer time and then break away for meeting as student-athletes begin their CSP effort.   We are very thankful to CCC for providing the necessary meeting space at no cost to the NCCAA.

The All-American Selection Committee meeting will follow the above mentioned meetings at Campus Crusade.

Championship Banquet

The Opening Serve Banquet will be held at the Kissimmee Civic Center on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:30 PM.  This event is for all participating student-athletes and coaching staffs only and each coach is asked to submit their total number of approved guests to Dan Wood (dwood@thenccaa.org) by Tuesday, November 3 at 5:00 PM.

Parking

All team vehicles will have access to restricted parking fee of charge.  All other vehicles will be subject to $5/day charge per city ordinance.

Sponsors

While in Kissimmee, the NCCAA asks that all participating teams make every effort to support the local establishments that have helped underwrite this event.  They are:

Cici’s Pizza (half way between Civic Center and hotel), Starbucks Coffee (close to Civic Center), Firehouse Subs (close from Civic Center), Denny’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds (across from hotel), Have A Great Sandwich Deli (close to Civic Center), and Congo River Golf (putt-putt facility).

These businesses will also be listed in the event program along with any NCCAA special offers they may be honoring.
