The
Ministry
[Back
to top] |
|
Since
1966, the NCCAA has provided ministry and outreach to
thousands of young men and women through intercollegiate
athletic competition
with a Christian perspective. Athletics are used
as a tool to impact and develop our young people into
leaders of tomorrow.
As
America's largest Christian intercollegiate athletic association,
the NCCAA serves 103 Christian colleges and universities,
sponsoring 21 national championships. It also sponsors
mission endeavors throughout the world, sharing the witness
of Jesus Christ through athletics.
The
NCCAA Pro-Am provides a large portion of the annual financial
budget for NCCAA outreach. This event has assisted
over 4,200 student-athletes in their missions endeavors
around the world.
|
The
Purpose
[Back
to top] |
For
the 20th year the NCCAA Pro-Am will be conducted to help
support the NCCAA in both the general operations area and
in the support of student-athletes and coaches as they
travel the nation and world in sports ministry.
The
Pro-Am is also a time for its fellowship, spiritual renewal
and, of course, great golf. Andy Chrisman and Mark
Harris will minister to all those
attending by providing spiritual emphasis and fun through
music and sport!

Mission
Inn Resort is a golfer's paradise of 36 holes that
is touched by history and blessed with natural beauty.
Boasting rare tee to green elevations of 85 feet, towering
forests and sparkling, spring-fed lakes, these spectacular
courses are memorable no matter what the score. Revered
as one of Florida 's finest, El Campeón, "The
Champion," was designed by Charles E. Clarke of
Troon, Scotland. The course, which opened in 1926, is
ranked in the top 10 of Florida’s 1,400+ courses. Las
Colinas, "The Hills," was designed by former
PGA Tour Player Gary Koch. The course opened in 1992
to a nomination for "Best New Resort Course" by
Golf Digest, giving it immediate recognition. Traditional
golf design and extraordinary gifts of nature only begin
to define the golf experience at Mission Inn.

letter. Please review each item and be sure to respond
to all that apply you or your group.
1)
1) All
early arrival (prior to Friday, 3/16) and late departure
(after Monday, 3/19 checkout) room reservations must
be made through Mission Inn Resort unless otherwise
confirmed. Call 800-874-9053 today to guarantee
your needs
2) Friday
tee times (enclosed) have been booked by the NCCAA office
and will be posted online on March 5 at
www.thenccaa.org (simply
click on Pro-Am icon). If you do not have internet
access, please call our office and we can give you your
time after March 5.
3) We
are proud to announce a brand new NCCAA
Preferred Vendor, Dollar Rental Car. All
Pro-Am guests may utilize this new discount program
by doing the following:
Go
to
www.dollar.com and
join Dollar’s Express program. This will allow
you to bypass the reservation counter and the line once
in Orlando airport.
You will be given an Express ID number that you will need
when making your reservation.
After
you have your Express ID number, you may reserve your car
online or by calling 1-800-800-4000. You will need
to enter or provide the NCCAA code which is oi6008.
Rates
are enclosed and we strongly encourage all guests to support
the NCCAA via this new agreement as we receive royalty
funds from Dollar for each rental.
4) Directions

Orlando Airport (approx. 45 minutes pending traffic):
*Take
528 West (Bee Line Expressway) to the Florida Turnpike
North
(toward Ocala).
*Take
exit #285 and follow the signs to Mission Inn Resort and/or Howey-in-the-Hills. The

schedule of events is also enclosed and you can note
that the first NCCAA gathering will be the Friday night
Welcome Dinner at 7:00 PM. The buffet line will open
at 6:30 PM and the program will begin at 7:00 PM.
6) The
Pro-Am Committee, based upon our 2006 event surveys,
has elected to allow each amateur to request that they
be paired with their original group for Monday’s
Pro-Am round. Obviously, we want to continue the
Team Draw format but will keep any groups or guests together
should they notify us before Wednesday, March 7. After
this date, request cannot be guaranteed. If you
wish to be paired with specific amateur guests, please
email Dan Wood (dwood@thenccaa.org)
or call him at 864-250-1199 before the deadline.
7) All
non-playing guests may be interested in the following
attractions:

· Lake

Please
call us with any questions or any last minute guests you
can convince to come to Florida in March. We look

Resort!
Sincerely,
Dan Wood
