The NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week award will be given to one player in each sport, both Divisions I and II, chosen from the list of nominees submitted by all recognized sports each week.  The student-athlete should exemplify the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA. 

 

The recognized national championship/invitational sports are:  baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross-country, men's golf, football, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, and men's and women's volleyball.

Procedures for Student-Athlete of the Week

  • The student-athlete should be nominated by his/her respective coach and should exemplify the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA. 

  • Accomplishments should be listed for the preceding week (Monday through Saturday).

  • Nomination forms should be faxed (864-250-1141) or emailed to Jerry Malone (jmalone@thenccaa.org) to the NCCAA Director of Member Relations by 5:00 p.m. each Monday. 

  • The NCCAA Director of Member Relations will review all nominations and select one player in each sport for both Divisions I and II.

  • Each school is responsible for notifying local media of this honor bestowed on its student-athlete(s).

  • The NCCAA National Office will send a congratulatory letter and two certificates, one for the student-athlete and one for his/her respective institution.
