seedings for the tournament are as follows:
Manhattan Christian College
4-0
Central Christian College of the Bible 3-1
Central Bible College
2-2
Grace University
0-3-1
Baptist Bible College
0-3-1
The higher seed wears white unless worked out with the
opposing team.
Game times are as follows;
Thursday, October 28 - 3:00pm - Grace University vs
Baptist Bible College
Friday, October 29 - 1:00pm - MCC vs the winner of
Thursday’s game.
3:15pm - CCCB vs CBC
Saturday, October 30 - 1:00pm – Championship Game
Our regional meeting will be 30 minutes after the second
game on Friday. Please email me your top four candidates
for All-region selection. We are limited by the NSCAA to
4 from any one team on the regional team. Rank them in
order from the top person down. I will prepare a ballot
for the meeting when I receive them.
Please note the following from Jon Hood from Grace. This
is an excellent opportunity for us all to help:
Hello Coaches and A.D.’s,
I can’t believe how fast the season is going!! In less
than a month our fall sports teams will be at regional
tournaments. This year GU is hosting both the women’s
volleyball and men’s soccer tournaments. Part of the
tournament is a service project. I know that usually it
is a canned food drive, but this year GU athletics is
partnering with Tiny Hands International. They serve
God in a few ways, but the one that grabbed my heart was
their battle against human trafficking. I propose that
your teams could raise money any number of ways over the
next few weeks. They could each chip in $3-5. Maybe
they conduct a penny drive around campus. You could
raffle off items signed by the team (I am thinking
parents would buy these items). If your campus is like
ours, it is not filled with students who have money
falling out of their pockets because they have so much.
But, we have 9 teams coming to compete at the end of
October. If every team could raise $25, we could give
Tiny Hands intl. a little over $200. Trust me, that
would go a long way in saving little girls from a life
too horrible for words.
In advance, thanks for your help everybody!!!!
In Him

Central Region Division II Conference Call
Minutes from September 10, 2008
I.
The meeting was opened
with prayer

National Office Report –
Jerry Malone
Jerry gave us a report from the
National Office.
-The National Convention will be May
29-30 in St. Louis
-The National Office would like to
encourage all regions to take part in CSP (Christian Service
Project), for Regional Tournaments. Potentially each team could
bring food items for a food drive and strive to reach a goal of a
specific poundage
-we need to submit information to the
National Office like All-Region Teams. There will be places on
the NCCAA website that will keep that information updated.
-There are new Division I schools that
have been added to our region (Crowley’s Ridge & York College)
IV.
Kirk Hanson gave a
financial report. Each school needs to pay $125 for their region
dues and mail them to Kirk Hanson. The region dues go towards the
purchasing of the region banners as well as reimbursement to the
Region Chair’s attendance at the National Convention.

c.
Seeding format – the
seeding format for the regional tournament will be based on the
regional standings. We need to develop a tiebreaker system for
instances where there are ties. After some discussion we agreed
to propose some different formats by October 5 and we would vote
on the format that we would like to use via e-mail and that vote
would be completed by October 15.

d.
We are in discussions of
combing our region for baseball with the Southwest Region. When
that is all worked out we will notify everyone of what was
determined.
XI.
There was discussion
about the concern of teams cancelling programs and what procedure
should be followed when that occurs. Schools need to call people
and include the National Office in that discussion. In basketball
if a team doesn’t have a program – then the following year the
schools in the region are not required to schedule them for that
next year.

We will also be doing

donate to a local food bank.
